About My Fused Glass Work:

Glass is my paint & my canvas! With an image in mind, I place cut dichroic glass pieces and hand sprinkle glass powder onto a glass panel. Glass colors melt and burn-out at certain temperatures, so I layer the colors accordingly and fire my work in a kiln. I add more glass powder; re-fire at a different temperature and so on until the design is complete. A finished work of art has been fired several times in order to achieve the desired textures and color combinations. The layering also adds depth and dimension. I mount my fused glass art on white-washed wood with stainless steel stand-offs. With glass, I create images that capture the reflective quality of light and water, along with the vibrant colors on our planet and in space.
